UNBOXING THE NEW SAWTOOTH X HIKING BOOTS

Unboxing the New Oboz Footwear Sawtooth X Hiking Shoes

Karla: When I first unboxed my boots, I liked the new modern design! I received the Sawtooth X Low design in Hazy Gray! They appeared robust, yet incredibly lightweight.

Phillip: I received the Sawtooth X Mid Waterproof. I was pleased with the new cool design and the B-DRY waterproof and breathable technology throughout the boot. I also like the easy lacing system.

The last Sawtooth design was around for 10 years before it had a makeover!

“The new Sawtooth X retains all the things that made the original so popular, but now with new styling and materials for improved comfort, traction, and durability. The Sawtooth X is sure to comfort your feet while it opens your eyes to new adventures.” - Oboz

BREAKING THEM IN & FIRST THOUGHTS

Oboz Footwear True To The Trail

Karla: I always recommend breaking in your new hiking shoes little by little. On my first hike, I went locally and did 3-miles. They felt super comfortable! I had no blisters, slips or discomfort. I did decide to change out the insole for my personal arch support needs. For my second hike, I took them up to Pyramid Peak and Lion Peak in Southern California. They held up really well.

Phillip: There was almost no break in necessary. My boots fit extremely well right out of the box. They are very comfortable, and I haven’t had any blisters or hot spots at all.

ON THE TRAIL: HIKING IN THE NEW OBOZ SAWTOOTH X SHOES

Karla: Since my first few hikes, I’ve now taken them for 10+ mile hikes at Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park and our Over 50 Outside retreat. I’ve had them for 6 months now and while they are a little scratched due to all the adventures, they have plenty of life left in them. I’m looking forward to continuing the adventures with my Oboz Sawtooth X .

Phillip: I too, took these on the same National Park hikes as Karla. I have had no issues. I highly recommend these shoes and think Oboz is a great brand in general. To match your arch, make sure to get the OFIT insoles.

CONCLUSION: THE OBOZ SAWTOOTH X ARE SOME OF THE BEST HIKING SHOES OUT THERE!

  • I have two pair of low Bridgers, a pair of higher Bridgers hikers and I just purchased Bridger 7 insulated boots for snowshoeing this winter. I agree with Phillip that they fit perfect. New out of the box I hiked eight miles in my lower boots with no issues except comfortable feet.
