We hosted our final Sawyer Arizona Tour pop-up hike at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Here's a recap and why you need to check out this classic desert landscape!
The night prior to the event we camped at the monument, and were lucky to have a group of challengers who joined us.
In the morning we headed over to the visitor center, where Ranger Sardius gave our group a presentation about the monument and made sure we all had plenty of water for our desert hike. From there we all carpooled to the trailhead, we hiked the Red Tanks Trail. Ranger Sardius hiked with us making sure to point out some local flora, fauna and answered any other questions we had.
We marveled at the Organ Pipe Cactus, took photos and made lots of new friends! We talked about how unique the hike was too. 7 miles later we came back to the visitor center to collect our "I Hike For Health" pins!
Thank you to everyone who came out to join us, especially Julianna and Yolanda (who drove down from California), Sue Walter, Ranger Sardius, Darren from Arizona Hiking, and Camille from AZ Spirits Wild and Free for all your support!
