Join 52 Hike Challenge co-founder, Karla Amador, and other like-minded people for an unforgettable experience at REI Coronado Campout on Saturday, September 15th!
This is your opportunity to meet new friends and learn from REI expert instructors in a fun, relaxing setting. Show up ready to paddle at your own pace during this all levels experience. You'll enjoy a leisurely kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP) session on the bayside of Coronado Island.
New to paddling? Don’t worry - the water is relatively calm, and your REI Outdoor School Instructors will be there to guide you. Beginners are welcome!
After our refreshing time on the water, you’re free to explore all that Coronado Island has to offer. Later that evening, it’s time to meet back at camp for an REI-sponsored s'mores bar by the campfire. Get ready to make new friends, share stories and laugh with like-minded people.
On Sunday morning, you’ll wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Breathe in the beautiful sunrise and enjoy strong camp coffee and a light breakfast provided by REI. Then, further your zen with yoga by the water.
New to yoga? No worries - the class is open to all levels, and you’ll be free to modify or intensify your practice as you see fit.

Here’s a preview of our amazing itinerary:
Saturday, September 15th (arrive @ 1pm)
- Arrive at 1pm on Saturday to set up your campsite
- Set out on a kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP) adventure
- Relax back at camp or keep exploring Coronado Island
- Cookout using an easy-to-use camp kitchen provided by REI
- Enjoy a campfire hosted by REI, complete with a S’mores bar
Sunday, September 16th (depart @ 10am)
- Wake up early and witness a beautiful sunrise on the island
- Enjoy strong camp coffee & a light breakfast provided by REI
- Listen to the waves while you practice yoga by the shore
- Break camp and say goodbye to your new lifelong friends
This outdoor event is guaranteed to be an unforgettable adventure that you’ll remember for years to come!

5000 Highway CA-75, Coronado, CA 92118
Crown Cove Aquatic Center is located in Silver Strand State Beach on Coronado Island. From San Diego, take I-5 South. Merged onto CA-75 South using exit 14A (follow signs for CA-75 towards Coronado). Continue onto the Coronado Bridge. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto Orange Ave. Continue about 4 miles onto Silver Strand Blvd. Crown Cove Aquatic center will be on your left-hand side.
