Finisher Feature - Katrina Stewart: Hiking Through Life's Unexpected Challenges

"2020 was a challenging year for the world, and myself personally.
In the middle of the pandemic, I was unjustly fired from my job of 22 years. The Challenge gave me something positive to focus on when it felt like my life was falling apart. Hiking gave me a break from the stress of job hunting and putting my life back together as best I could. There hasn't been much to look forward to this year but my weekly hikes were something to look forward to."

Favorite Trail:
Lake Hammonassett

What helped you stay motivated to finish the challenge?
I kept a hiking log and am very goal oriented (finished the Challenge in 2018 & 2019 and the NET50 in 2018 & NET100 in 2019).
